When I was young we played vinyl records which after many plays would skip. Like many people, I was a big fan of the Beatles, so I'll use them as an example. Now that I've been buying Beatles music, I often find when I play their songs I get to certain places in the music and I EXPECT it to skip, or at least I have a very clear memory that the song used to skip at exactly this point. Not sure where this fits into psychology other than memory in a broad sense, but I thought I'd throw it out there.
