As the only cross-cultural dude on TIPS,I find it interesting that the judge in
the sentencing
of Michael Jackson's doctor emphasized the docor's lack of remorse for his
actions. However, this is where I feel that some knowledge of comparative and
differential racial emotional expressiveness could be of some import. Some black
men are not in the business of admitting guilt, for example,Herman Cain. For
some black men,"staying cool"
is what they have been conditioned to from early childhood.
An interesting cross-cultural factor here is that Dr.Conrad Murray originates
from the
Island of Grenada (one of the Windwards as is St.Lucia my place of birth) and
those cultures failure is ridiculed.Dr.Murray might be remorseful but the
expression of remorse could be subject to his own cultural constraints.
Send me something.
