I do not justify discrimination aginst others based on a caste system or any other social, ethnic, racial, and other cultural parameters.Bear in mind that it is not only how people think and behave that should be analyzed but the REASONS that they give to account for their behavior and thinking. And the reasons they might give such as tradition, authoritative, assumed indigenous and exogenous subject variables, and other beliefs would probably not stand scientific muster.I suspect that when faced with scientific veracity, many could not handle the cognitive disson that would prevail because of social and cultural imperatives. It is thinking that must be changed. But whether that thinking must be changed to coincide with science is a different story, Like St.Paul,it could be non-productive to go against the goad. About four months ago I entertained a guest from New Zealand. This person was in Animal homeopathy. Btw,I distinguish between treatment and healing.I suspect there is more to healing than the medicinal effects. Research seems to support the idea that one's health status can be influenced by one's optimistic outlook. Granting that homeopathy does not measure up to real medicine,an issue to considered is its role in the non-medical
panorama of healing.
One final point: critical thinking is not confined to Psychology.Critical thinking also applies to history and other disiplines.
Is the Confederate flag a symbol of racism or State's rights?
Why isn't there a hibt of the fleur-de-lis on the Canadian flag?
