Freud wrote a piece titled 'The psychopathology of everyday life' in which he sees some unconscious element to mistakes and so called slips of the tongue. Not sure if this apply to this political situation but Mitt Romney introduced Paul Ryan as 'the next President of the United States'.He later corrected to VP designation.
