Given the recent posts on human evolution and genetic studies of early humans, some people might be interested in a review article that appears to give a state of the art report of genetic analysis used in such studies and how new techniques are altering perspectives. There is a popular media article on Science Daily on this; see: http://www.sciencedaily.com/releases/2012/08/120814121113.htm
And one can obtain a copy of the research article here: http://www.ucl.ac.uk/mace-lab/publications/articles/2012/TIGS_972_final_1_.pdf Perhaps one of the most important points to take away is the degree of uncertainty that exists and how overly simplistic older accounts are. The authors identify what areas need development and indicate how new technology might apply to them. -Mike Palij New York University [email protected] --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [email protected].
