Rick, don't forget a few things.  First, they come into class with habits 
entrenched from k-12 experience.  Second, those habits are being reinforced 
throughout the campus.  Third, parents are almost totally grade conscious.  
Fourth, change is a journey into the fearful unknown away from the comfort, 
safetly, and friendliness of the know.  I know all that.  That's why I expect 
such questions even at the end of the semester and am not frustrated, saddened, 
or defeated  by them.
