Even the powerful phrase, "The banality of evil", doesn't do justice to this staggering material. Surely there is psychological importance to these home movies. Perhaps also political, for their depiction of the "family values" of one of history's most unspeakably evil individuals and his associates. They are so kind and loving to children and animals.
