*Assistant Professor (Clinical) and Director, Psychological Center. *The
Department of Psychology at Murray State University (*www.murraystate.edu *)
seeks to fill one tenure-track assistant professor position (to begin
August, 2013) and to hire a Director of the department’s Psychological
Center (to begin July, 2013).

*Clinical Psychology *

Must have Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from an APA-approved program and
licensure in Kentucky (or eligibility for licensure within one year). The
PhD must be completed by time of appointment (ABDs with a documented plan
of completion by appointment date will be considered).  Successful
candidates will provide evidence of excellence in teaching, the ability to
establish an active research program, and the interest and ability to
involve undergraduate and master’s level graduate students in their
research.  Preference will be given to candidates with a
cognitive-behavioral orientation who complement existing areas of faculty
specialization.  Candidates must have the ability to teach General
Psychology, additional undergraduate courses(e.g., Abnormal Psychology),
and graduate courses in our clinical master’s degree program (e.g.,
psychopathology, psychotherapy, treatment electives).  The successful
candidate will serve as a Practicum instructor, supervising adult and child
therapy and assessment cases in a community-serving, sliding-fee-scale
clinic based in the department.



*Director, Psychological Center *

The Psychological Center is a community-based, sliding-fee-scale clinic
which provides practicum training for master’s students in the clinical
program. The Director position is full time, 12 month, non-tenure track.
Responsibilities include providing overall direction to the Psychological
Center, supervising clinical practicum, initiating and maintaining contact
with community agencies, participating in graduate teaching, and
coordinating with the Department Chair and the Graduate Coordinator of the
Clinical master’s program to insure that the clinic meets the educational
needs of graduate students.  The ideal candidate will have experience in
psychotherapy and psychological testing (with both children and adults).
Candidates must have Ph.D. or Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology from an
APA-approved program, licensure in Kentucky (or eligibility for licensure
within one year), and experience in the described areas. Preference will be
given to candidates with a cognitive-behavioral orientation.

a scientist-practitioner approach and is accredited by the Masters in

experimental psychology master’s degree.
