A new Google search engine has come into existence: Google Nose.
It has a massive database of scents will can be produced on demand.
See:
http://www.google.com/landing/nose/index.html
Now you can get the "new car" smell anytime, anywhere, even in your office!
And just think of the fun you can have during office hours when students
stay too long -- just let out the scent of a beetle's fart! See:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fZwBdc3OEmM
I hear that John Bargh is already writing grants to do research that
allows one to use different scents to see how its unconscious processing
affects all manner of cognitive processes and behavior. For example,
does beetle farts promote a crappy attitude in students working in groups?
And just think about the next faculty meeting or meeting with the dean
and other upper administration, what will the reaction be when you let
out the scent of cowpie? Ironic, no?
Oh, and happy April 1, 2013.
