A couple of media outlets have picked up a story that the Chinese dissident
Chen Guangcheng, who was "saved" from prison in the People's Republic of
China by getting an appointment at NYU School of Law, will be leaving NYU.
The Murdoch rag the "NY Post" appears to be the first to carry the story
and they are not gracious in how they present the situation (indeed, one might
even say that they were gratuitously nasty towards NYU); see:

You may want to clean your keyboard and mouse after reading the NY Post.

NYU has not issued any formal statement either via email or on its news
page at this time (they do, however, hype the fact that a couple of alumni
involved with the Broadway musical "Kinky Boots" got Tony awards); see:

The Post article states that Chen might go to Fordham's law school which
is located down the block from Lincoln Center (Fordham's main campus
is in the Bronx but they have another undergraduate college and the law
school in the Lincoln Center area), so it would not be much of a move.

Chen was interviewed for NYU's "Law School Magazine" which was
published last year. One can read it here:

In other news, Chen will be visiting Taipei/Taiwan next week (it is
unclear if this influenced NYU's decision); see this article for more
details:

This is a developing story and I'm sure there will be more about it in
the news.

P.S. On an unrelated note, Chris Green's post on Galileo made it to
the Tips digest but did not make it to the Mail-Archive. Someone
should look into this.
