The other day I was watching the news and they were discussing the
situation in Ohio where the women had been held captive.  Someone said
something like, "To hold these beautiful young women captive is a terrible
crime".  I was left wondering why he used the term "beautiful" - a sexist
remark perhaps?  Would it be less horrible if the women were not
beautiful?  If the captives were male might he (or anyone really) have
said, "..handsome young men"?  I imagine so.  So perhaps the adjective
just reflects our bias toward attractive people in general...
