Miguel, I was thinking that the mother was trying her hardest not to respond to the boy and so thus she was trying to extinguish his behavior of repeatedly asking her questions while she was trying to rest. Obviously she fails so in the end I guess you're right - she's reinforcing the boy's behavior of repeatedly calling her name. How's that?
