Québec got most of Canada's Irish (Catholic) immigration because of its large French (Catholic) population. Still, I have known enough Québecers names things like Jean-Paul MacDonald to know that there was a strong Scots influence there too (note the thistle among the rose, shamrock, and fleur de lys on the Montréal flag).
