Oh, comments! As a rule they are uninformed, biased, anecdotal, mean-spirited ..... That's why we invented peer-review processes.
There were a few comments on a study I did ( http://bps-research-digest.blogspot.com/2012/11/your-first-name-is-not-as-unusual-as.html ) that argued from anecdotes. I almost replied but decided not to. I'm sure there is a happy medium between respect for authority (or in our case expertise/experience) and our recent tendency to tear down all authorities/expertise. ========================== John W.
