Grela Instructor of Psychology McHenry County College 8900 US Highway 14 Crystal Lake, IL 60012 Office: C-124; Phone: 815-479-7725 [email protected]<mailto:[email protected]> POSITION: INSTRUCTOR OF PSYCHOLOGY Full-time tenure track position CLASSIFICATION: Faculty RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsibilities include but are not limited to: * Teaching responsibilities will consist of 15 contact hours per week of lower division courses, including, but not limited to, Lifespan and/or Child Development and may also include online classes. * Assist in curriculum development through preparation of new courses and/or participation in revision of current courses. * All psychology faculty participate and assist in: o Determining equipment priorities. o Choosing appropriate textbooks for courses. o Determining supply needs for courses. o Determining annual program budget needs. o Outcomes assessment. * General involvement as a faculty member in participatory college governance, program assessment, student and college committees. * Assessment of student learning. * Willingness to serve as Department Chair, if appointed. MINIMUM POSITION QUALIFICATIONS: * Master's Degree in Psychology. * Experience teaching Developmental Psychology and Introduction to Psychology is desirable. * Coursework or experience teaching in another area such as personality, biopsychology, or research methods is desirable, but not required. * Demonstrated teaching experience is preferred. * Commitment to the philosophy and mission of the community college. * Willingness to work with Distance Education and classroom technology. * Demonstrated commitment to professional growth. * Commitment to work with beginning students. * Commitment to working with students of varying learning abilities, backgrounds, and diversity. --- You are currently subscribed to tips as: [email protected].
