I teach the class to masters-level mental-health counseling students. For the
first third of the course, I provide information on basic pharmacology. During
the second third, they select (from a list that I provide) recreational drugs
for presentations. During the final third, they select psychotherapeutic drugs
for presentations. The drugs from which they can make their selections are
ones that they might encounter when working with clients, and they are expected
to address topics that were covered by me during the first third. Of course, I
interrupt them a lot and fill in any holes.

Dear TIPSters,
I teach a course on behavioral pharmacology, and as I'm reworking my syllabus,
I've been reflecting on how the area has changed. I can't possibly cover
everything, but I can't decide what to weed out. Would any of you who teach
pharmacology be willing to share what topics you cover within a semester? I
would really appreciate it.
Thanks,
Carol
