The 12-steps AA program is a waste (no pun intended) of time. The program has not produced any significant results for those seeking addiction cessation.The program's emphasis on total abstinence and surrender to a higher power has proved to be non effecive.Some renegades from AA are advocating "moderation mangement" as a preferred tool. Reminds me of the time Eysenck pronounced the ineffectiveness of psychotherapy I guess AA would not have helped 'Hitch' as in Christopher Hitchens. michael
