As some Tipsters are aware, after 12 years of having a billionaire
running NYC as mayor, we now have a Democrat proposing a
progressive agenda and issues, Bill de Blasio. This has not
gone over well with the "Superior Class" and the Murdoch rag
"The New York Post" has been busy pointing out that NYC
has become a "peeing homeless terrordome" (tm, Gothamist)
as shown in this analysis piece by the Gothamist website; see:

NOTE: Don't miss the "colorful" NY Post cover.
Oh, and let's not forget the Post reminder that de Blasio hates cops:
http://gothamist.com/2015/05/12/shootings_up_nyc.php
NOTE: The Post argue that because de Blasio hates cops,
shootings are up in NYC relative to 2014. Use this example
in a critical thinking exercise and identify the errors in reasoning.

Meanwhile, in the "Blame the Victim" department: The Post
wonders why de Blasio doesn't show the homeless some
"tough love"; see:

As a New Yorker I have to admit that I have seen more homeless
people on the streets of Manhattan since de Blasio became mayor.
However, I don't think that he somehow imported them from other
places ("Hi Los Angeles!") but that they were in NYC all along.
Bloomberg was much more effective in having the cops keeping
them off the street and "out of sight". Instead of helping to create
affordable housing for the poor and middle class, Bloomberg
allowed strange towers to be built in parts of NYC where none
had been before (I'm looking at you Lower East Side) and out-of-towner 0.1% have purchased apartments in them which remain unused (afterall, NYC real estate is a good investment).

Oh well.

Now, for something completely different: Are you a fan of the
classic white lab rat? Then you might love the following story:
http://gothamist.com/2015/07/14/these_rats_are_doomed.php

Will someone alter the Baha Men's "Who Let The Dogs Out"
to make it more descriptive of this situation?

And as the Gothamist article makes clear, these animals don't
stand a chance of surviving in the big city on their own.
