Just a reminder, especially to those of you teaching history of psychology, that the historical psychologist rating game continues: http://elo.sha.nemart.in . There have been some big changes at the top since I last updated you. Freud has faded to 12th. The behaviorists and friends have come on strong (Skinner and Pavlov 1-2, Bandura in 5th, Watson 6th). The humanists are still in the game, though (Maslow in 4th, Rogers in 12th). Jean Piaget is holding down 3rd. Then the old-timers: James 7th, Darwin 8th, Wundt 9th, and Binet 10th.
B. F. Skinner (1616) Ivan Pavlov (1562) Jean Piaget (1539) Abraham Maslow (1504) Albert Bandura (1502) John B. Watson (1501) William James (1499) Charles Darwin (1496) Wilhelm Wundt (1483) Alfred Binet (1471) The list of top-10 women is interesting as well: Elizabeth Loftus (1358) Anne Anastasi (1320) Anna Freud (1307) Eleanor J. Gibson (1299) Karen Horney (1285) Maria Montessori (1278) Mary Ainsworth (1277) Mary Whiton Calkins (1240) Sandra Bem (1232) Margaret Floy Washburn (1212) You can get a complete list of rankings here: http://elo.sha.nemart.in/elo/ratings Play early!
