I was surprised that Cruz dropped out, especially after

The question of how/why this has happened will probably
be of great research and theorizing among political psychologists
and other disciplines. The Washington Post article I link to
below provides some hypotheses but it is still hard to believe
that Republican voters would nominate a billionaire from
New York City (aka Sodom on the Hudson). It only adds
to the strangeness that his opponent will likely be a New
York millionaire. If Bernie gets the nomination, he'll won't
even qualify as a millionaire -- appropriate for a socialist. ;-)
