A brief description of the position:

The Department of Psychology in the College of Education and Human Services at 
John Brown University seeks a full-time faculty member with a strong commitment 
to undergraduate teaching and the integration of Christian faith with learning. 
Area of teaching and research specialty program are open, with a preference for 
a background in clinical/counseling or developmental psychology. Teaching 
responsibilities include but are not limited to introductory psychology (with 
possible honors section), developmental psychology, personality theory, 
counseling or helping skills class, as well as contributing to team-taught 
'orientation to the major' course offered to incoming psychology majors each 
fall semester.  Primary appointment is in the traditional undergraduate 
psychology department with teaching opportunities in the graduate counseling 
department. Additional opportunities to design/develop coursework in one's area 
of expertise for the 'selected topics' rotation of courses in the department 
and teaching courses consistent with the specializations or interest of the 
candidate. Other responsibilities include academic advising and mentoring 
students, scholarship, recruiting for the major, and service on university 
committees.
