Check out http://www.tivo.com/4.9.4.1.asp for a better description, but
basically its for standalone Series TiVo Units, you can "publish" content
such as .mp3 (music) and pictures to your TiVo unit so that you can view /
listen to them on your TV. This is also an integrated part of the new
TiVotogo that is currently in deployment... If you have as a 3rd option on
your main screen "Music and Photos" then TiVo Desktop is how you "publish
the information to that option". This used to be not sure if it still is
thought, referred to by TiVo as Home Media Option (used to be a pay service
but is now free)...
Not available on the DirecTV Units (DirecTV does not want their
customers to have this functionality)...
