Go with the Tivo unit not the Humax. Tivos from Tivo (Not an OEM) typically get the new features first such as TIvo2Go. I had that very same thing happen. I called Tivo. They gave me a pretty good deal on a refurbished Tivo that actually looked like new when it arrived. They transferred my lifetime service to the unit I bought from them. If I would have purchased a Tivo from a store like Best Buy I wouldn't have been able to transfer the subscription. Also I know DirecTV doesn't let you transfer your subscription if your unit dies.
