If you're willing to risk a little, this sounds like a hardware issue so
if you're up for it you might consider picking up an IDENTICAL model say on
eBay, and then swapping your hard drive over to it. Emphasis on identical
since you need to have the right software to match the hardware.
Turning off every so many minutes reeks of a thermal or power supply problem.
You should be able to find a matching unit that doesn't have a lifetime
subscription
for cheap to use as a donor to make the swap.
If it doesn't work then you at least know that it's something within the hard
drive or the software.
