i've been using my scientific atlanta to record shows and transfering those to a g5 through adv110. ripping those to quicktime. quality is good and saves space with a smaller file. the sa 8300hd misses the last few minutes of every recorded show. bad thing. does anyone recommend a certain machine toshiba or tivo? the panasonics on amazon got bad reviews. not sure what format either record at? i think they both come with tivo basic at first? please advise, thanks tom
