I have a Sony SVR-2000 with lifetime subscription. I'd like to upgrade it with a cachecard and bigger hard drives. It is only a 30G or 40G (I forget which).
Anybody selling their used but good cachecard with ethernet that will fit a Sony SVR-2000 series 1? I have a pair of 120GB drives, and I was thinking about installing both of those to replace the 40GB. What are the downsides to this? Any drives to avoid? (I believe that mine are Maxtor drives) Any preferred drives or drives that are very quiet? Anybody in the San Jose, CA area willing to help me guide me through an upgrade? Reasonably priced services to do the drive upgrade for me? I'd like to eventually be able to take stuff from the TiVo and store it as mpegs or avis, ... Thanks!
