I have a new TiVo HD. I plugged it in and it pretty much installed itself on my home network. Now it's time to get the Comcast installer back to plug in the Cablecard(s).
Comcast's website manages to cast negative connotations on Cablecards, noting that they won't provide Pay Per View or Video on Demand services. I thought that the edict from the FCC about Cablecards was supposed to make consumers independent of the need for proprietary decoder boxes. My wife will be distressed to learn she cannot grab a movie when she wants it. Perhaps amazon's service will suffice - I haven't explored it yet. Anyone care to comment about this apparent Cablecard limitation? Jim Robertson --
