Thank you for the response! This doesn't make sense to me either... I am using VideoReDo Plus to edit and convert the programs I recorded on my tivo. I have had this for over 2 years and I have never had a problem transfering the programs back to my tivo after I have converted them. This is the same with other MPG videos as well. I used to rip my DVD's and then convert them to MPG so I could put them onto my Tivo. (I have a 750gb tivo so I like to have a dozen or so movies on my tivo that I can watch without having to search around for the DVD.) a few months ago, (right after a tivo update) it started only transfering the 2 seconds and then freezing, (the TIVO programs have no problem transfering back and forth) I figured that they had added something that detected copy protection or something.. So, no big deal, I'd rather not have to change DVD's every time I want to switch movies, but it's not the end of the world.. But then I recorded and tranferred 'Northanger Abby', (A PBS movie my sister wanted to see) and converted it to MPG so that I could burn it to DVD. After I converted it and before I burned it she came over and I tried to transfer it back to the tivo so she could just watch it here, but I ran into the same 2 second problem.. So now I wonder if it has something to do with the MPG format, or what? I also use Magic Video Converter to convert to MPG, (which alwasy worked before) but now that doesn't work either.. Only original tivo shows, (unconverted) seem to transfer now. I don't get it. ;)

Or any other suggestions? The easiest way would be TiVo Desktop Plus, which will transcode other formats into TiVo-compatible MPEG2. But a .tivo file that has been converted to MPEG-2 should work as is, unless you're converting it in some odd way. Tools like DirectShow Dump just strip the DRM and the MPEG contents remain the same. There are other ways to do the conversion: http://www.zatznotf unny.com/ gtt.htm -MZ -- megazone-at- megazone. org http://www.MegaZone .org/ Gweep, Geek, Human, me. http://www.GizmoLov ers.com/ http://www.Eyrie- Productions. com/ -><- Hail Eris "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 508-852-2171 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
