Oddly, just a couple of days ago (August 28, 2008) YouTube announced that they were adding the ability to provide closed captions for videos. However, it takes a special effort on the part of the user uploading the video - you have to have a separate captioning file and upload it. So most videos just aren't going to have it, the vast majority of users aren't going to create and upload the caption files. And right now I don't believe the TiVo YouTube interface supports them since it was just added, after TiVo created the UI.
