Not a problem with either one. I used the Instant Cake CD from DVRupgrade.com to image a drive to repair an S2 some years back, around 2002 or 2003. A couple of years ago I purchased a 750GB ready-to-run drive from DVRupgrade.com to repair/upgrade my Pioneer S2 DVD TiVo when the drive failed. And a couple of months ago I picked up a 1TB ready-to-run drive from WeaKnees.com to repair/upgrade my S3 when that drive failed. (Might sound like a lot of failures, but I've had TiVos for over 8 years. The DVD unit lasted over 4 years of constant use, the S3 lasted nearly 4 years. The old S2 was younger, but the corruption had a reason I shouldn't go into. ;-) ) Instant Cake is a cheap way to go if you're willing to do the work yourself and supply a drive. Certainly easier than the 100% DIY methods out there. I went with the ready-to-run drives on the more recent units since I'm in a place where I could easily afford to do so and the cost was worth the convenience and less hassle. (And back in 2002 I did the full DIY method to upgrade an S1 with two drives, times change.) -- [email protected] / [email protected] Geek, Gweep, Technophile, me. www.GizmoLovers.com / www.MegaZone.org / www.Eyrie-Productions.com Hail Eris Twitter.com/megazone / Facebook.com/megazone / www.LinkedIn.com/in/megazone "A little nonsense now and then, is relished by the wisest men" 432-363-4296 [Non-text portions of this message have been removed]
