Oh God yes. I've done every kind of voodoo imaginable with Tk8.5 libs and still can't get things to display properly. It's a bit ridiculous. (I'd rewrite everything in PyQt, but I've inherited an app with the Tkinter code kind of spaghetti'd throughout...argh).
