Ah. The current version of Slackware no longer includes Gnome. There *are* other projects for Gnome on Slackware - the Slackware Release notes point to http://gsb.sf.net and http://gware.sf.net. Anything that can't be found there, I'd check to see if http://www.linuxpackages.net/ has it.
