According to Hamlibs source code the Elecraft rigs are mostly handled by kenwood code.
Send_morse for the K4 gets the same handling as other kenwood rigs with the padded space. As other Elecraft kits (K3, K3S, KX2 or KX3) are handled differently, please try if you can connect to your rig with one of these models selected. You can then try if the keying problem is gone.
