It adds a new value "D" for discouraged to the Recommended column of the selected TLS registries and adds a "Comments" column to all active registries. This document updates the following RFCs: 3749, 5077, 4680, 5246, 5705, 5878, 6520, 7301, and 8447. Working Group Summary The document represents consensus of the WG. The I-D was originally was an “obsoletes” I-D, i.e., it was to completely replace RFC 8447, but the WG wanted “bis” I-D instead, i.e., it includes just what needs to change. The WG felt it was easier to explain what needs to change as opposed to what was changed and needs to be changed. If the IESG is adamant that this I-D be an “obsoletes” I-D, then there will be some controversy.
