Thanks for your help guys! That fixed the problem. Never having built an RPM package, 
I was unaware that the RPM-BUILD.x.y.z package was required (not installed by RH by 
default). I installed it and the package was created successfully!

Yeah, RH did something weird there.  Install the rpm-build package; that 
should fix it.
