Sending mail via /usr/bin/tmda-sendmail seems very slow. Even with
"feature-list=enable-background-sending" pine seems to take a very long
time to return from a sending operation compared to normal processing.

I know that tdma has a lot of work to do before the message is queued, but
why doesn't enable-background-sending cause the process to return before
the message is fully queued? Has anyone else experienced this?
