changind valid length of dated address

Is the time period for a +dated address hard coded or can it be changed? I think that for my purposes, 7 days is really too long and I'd like to shorten it, but I have not found a config file directive to change the time frame.

Is there one? If not is there anyway to change the time frame without hacking into the tmda python files?
