Yes, this is something that should be done by the MTA, because TMDA will be unable to bounce a message back. With qmail you could use rblsmtpd with qmail-smtpd to reject messages from AOL with a custom message. In your tcp.smtp file add a rule for AOL: =.aol.com:allow,RBLSMTPD="-Sorry, mail from AOL is rejected because we cannot reply" Then recompile the cdb file and add a call to rblsmtpd before qmail-smtpd.
