Hi Gre7g. I'm kinda pressed for time, so I'll be brief.

You can set up tmda-ofmipd to authenticate via IMAP or POP3 on the same
IP address for which the incoming request comes from.

So, in short, if you have IP-based domains then you can always log in as
just gre7g at host wolfhome.com.

This doesn't work for DNS based domains.

Nope. You just haven't set something up. I think there is an FAQ about this
somewhere.

I think you have to create a ~/tofmipd file. I'm a bit fuzzy on this though
since it's been about 5 months since I did a server setup.

The tofmipd file (if it is indeed named that) can contain IP to IP mappings
separated by a ':', or can be blank. If you actually populate it with IP:IP
pairs, then for the following record:

192.168.10.1:192.168.10.2

Any incoming ofmipd smtp connection on 192.168.10.1 will be authenticated
against the server at 192.168.10.2 (be it IMAP, POP3, or whatever).

If left empty, I think it defaults to a same host mapping.

HTH.
