Auto-reply software should respond to the envelope sender, not the Reply-To: header. By default, the envelope sender used by TMDA for confirmation requests is <>. If the auto-responder isn't sensitive to an empty envelope sender, it's broken. > Is there any way to have tmda ignore email from <> when it is sent > to a confirm address? No. This particular scenario seems to be somewhat rare and, in the past, we haven't gone out of our way to work around broken auto-responders. On the other hand, if performing this check appears to have no undesirable ramifications, it's a simple enough fix, so Jason might consider it.
