I posted a message on this some time ago, but got no response that I saw. Tried the new 0.81 version, same result. I understand it not. Help?
Scenario: ~ If tmda-ofmipd is started from the command line, it works as expected. BUT if tmda-ofmipd is started automatically by the system (init.d/rc.local/cron/etc...), it fails to work. EXACT SAME COMMAND LINE PARAMETERS. Running Mozilla 1.4, if it is auto-started I get a message that the connection to the SMTP server failed. Same MUA, same parameters to tmda-ofmipd, only difference is started from a command line. Result? Email gets sent just fine. I don't get it. I've attached strace's showing the results. strace.log is a log of the failure. tmda started via init.d (service tofmipd start). Strace call: strace -p <tmda-ofmipd's pid> -s 2048 -f >& strace.log since it's init.d, command line options are read from /etc/sysconfig/tofmipd. Contents of said file: # # If you are installing this file by hand, please consult the distribution # file contrib/tofmipd.init for further instructions. # OPTIONS="-p 0.0.0.0:8025 -R pop3://localhost"
attached file #2 is strace2.log. strace calling tmda-ofmipd directly as follows: strace -f -s 2048 tmda-ofmipd -p 0.0.0.0:8025 -R pop3://localhost
Any help is most appreciated. I cannot start tmda-ofmipd manually all the time, but if I don't I can't use it. I'd like to use it though.
Thanks! - --- Dan
