Thanks so far for all the help.
While I was trying to get the logging of qmail-smtpd going today (I haven't
needed it so far), but haven't had any luck. The strange part is that
now (perhaps because I restarted qmail?), I'm getting some entries in
the "~.tmda/logs/debug" and "~.tmda/logs/incoming" logs (this was not
happening last night when I first posted my issue to the group last night).
It's looking now like the tmda-filter program is being executed, and in
fact, trying to send email back to the sender for confirmation, however,
my qmail/sendmail is not sending the mail - I think due to relaying issues.
Following is the incoming and debug files which includes an example of
sending mail from my work account ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) to home
([EMAIL PROTECTED]) :
