First let me thank you for all of your help.. It clarified a lot of things....

Secondly, when I do item #3 above, all of a sudden it is protecting *ALL*
of my email accounts and I don't want that...   For example, I tried
sending an email to "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" (instead of my "test
account" -> [EMAIL PROTECTED]), and it wanted me to confirm my
email...  I have waaaay too many email accounts to have this happen....

Is there something in your later instructions which prevent this from
happening?...  I undid it because my test confirmed that it wasn't doing
what I needed and did not go any further..

You need to create incoming filters, if you don't have one the default behavior is to confirm everything.
