<sigh>

Well, I hope you enjoyed your performance. Good work. You were very helpful. And your sarcasm was highly appreciated.

I also like how you failed to address my first two questions in favor of making unrelated criticisms. (I'm not interested in using TMDA.cgi, and I'm definitely not interested in troubleshooting my host's installation of it. I was merely explaining why I can't use TMDA.cgi to generate the crypt_key file again.) In any case, I don't see how "Is this file [crypt_key] necessary for TMDA to send confirmation emails?" and "If so, how do I make one without TMDA.cgi?" aren't "real" questions (whatever THAT means).

You accuse me of making "worthless statements", which is interesting considering your ability to completely ignore my actual problems and instead focus on irrelevant issues. What was it you were saying about "basic reading and comprehension skills"?

The TMDA site has a lot of information on it, and I don't know that it's reasonable to expect every user to understand every aspect of the software, let alone every aspect of installing and configuring it (to wit, not everyone who uses TMDA will also be installing it.)

Even so, I am the type of person who likes to understand quite a bit about the products I use (not just software), but my primary goal right now is to get TMDA working to send confirmation emails so that I can again use my email efficiently. *Then* I will begin exploring the rest of TMDA as time permits. (From a user's perspective; I still don't think I'll be interested much in learning to install it. Sorry.)

Now, you may think the site is perfect already and needs no improvement, but I think providing different information paths for different types of users, including a good "Getting started" users guide, would make it much more usable.

Since this isn't likely to change any time soon, I would appreciate it if anyone else on the list could answer my two questions above as well as these:

1) What is the minimum user configuration (files & their content) necessary for TMDA to send confirmation request emails?

2) In my account's ~/mail directory I see test/inbox and mydomain.com/test/inbox which seem to always contain the same content. Does .tmda go in ~/mail/test/ or ~/mail/mydomain.com/test/ or both? I know my host is using exim and vpopmail. If there are any questions about their setup, I can ask.

3) Does TMDA.cgi work with virtual domains and their multiple email accounts? In other words, does the fact that it didn't seem to when I used it only a result of my host's incorrect configuration. When my host's installation of it was working, I could only log in with my primary account name and it created files in ~/.tmda. I could not log in with other email account names & passwords or see how I could edit other .tmda folders.

My apologies if any of this is unclear, "worthless", or seemingly stupid. Please ask questions if I haven't provided some piece of necessary information, and if the way I'm asking for help isn't very conducive to being helped, please let me know what I could do differently.

-Josh
