The problem was that I've switched from POP3 to IMAP and had the mail client set up so that it does not delete messages from the server... So when I received the messages for the first time with IMAP, it got this message as unread [strangely - only this one, even though there were around 20 messages in this maildir]. And this message got through before I've switched this account to such a harsh setup... And there was no entry in the logs because I keep only the last 7 days of TMDA log...
