Hi All,

I have been personally running TMDA for a long time now, and it has been
working very well for me. However, I am in a situation where some
combination of heuristic spam filtering and TMDA on a per-user basis
would be very useful for some of the people using one of my mail
servers.

My problem so far has been too many choices of ways to do it, and I am
having trouble figuring out which to go for. I need something very
flexible, yet simple to manage.

I want to do this on a per-user basis, but I don't want to
overcomplicate my setup. I also have an aversion to procmail (extra
config files that are horribly cryptic and just rub me the wrong way).
Ideally, I would like to integrate this into my tmda filter files only.
No extra config files per user required.

So far, I have looked at spamassassin and bogofilter. Would people mind
giving me their opinions on these filters and perhaps some anecdotes on
how you use them?

Here is a summary of my requirements:

1) Should be able to switch TMDA and/or heuristic filtering on or off on
a per user basis.
2) Should integrate straight into TMDA config files without too much
effort. This is a management thing. I don't want to jump through hoops
and be continually confused by 20 conflicting config files per user. I
also really like the simplicity and elegance of the tmda config format.
3) Should be able to handle MASSIVE files. I'm not kidding. One of the
guys using this server is a pro-audio sound studio tech, and gets sent
>300MB .wav files on a normal day.
4) Should allow some sort of tagging or redirecting of potential spam
mails. I can't ever actually drop a mail, for some users. They get
twitchy at the idea.
5) I am running qmail + vpopmail + tmda.

Anyway, any ideas or comments on this problem would be most appreciated.

Many thanks,
Ray
