It looks like you have a space or some other, unprintable, character
before the '|' in your .qmail file.  In other words, qmail thinks that
the line that runs tmda is actually an address to forward to.

Check your .qmail carefully.  If you're sure you have it right, you'll
need to tell us more about your configuration.  Are you using
vpopmail, and so forth.

You don't need the '-c /etc/tmdarc' on the tmda-filter command line,
since /etc/tmdarc is always read by tmda-filter.
