TMDA is protecting you from messages sent by people not in your
whitelist.  TMDA isn't protecting the users who don't use it.

I answered this in response to another of your messages, but briefly,
that is the envelope sender of the confirmation request.  Using <>
prevents autoresponders from getting into loops with TMDA.

Because whatever mail client you are using is sending your mail
through SMTP....  Several of the newer, graphical clients like KMail
do this.
