You received bad advice.  Build/install a Python 2.3.3 RPM from
http://www.python.org/2.3.3/rpms.html, which will not conflict with
your existing Python RPMs.

It looks like I have to make some changes to TMDA's .spec file, so
expect a 1.1.2 release later today.  This .spec file will require a
/usr/bin/python2.3 binary, so you should follow the link above and
install that RPM which provides this.
