Err, right. Good luck with the patent.  The exim mailer (among others)
has been doing a better job of this (which is generally called sender
verification) for some time.  Last year Jason posted a script to do
sender verification from within TMDA. It is still part of the
distribution as far as I know.

In any case, I thank you for your suggestion, but I have been using
your invention already, it seems before you invented it.
